Easter Egg Hunt Called Off Due to Interference of "Helicopter" Parents

That's the gist of this USA Today story--that so-called "helicopter" parents (the sort who hover too closely over everything their youngsters do) jumped a rope to collect Easter eggs hidden in a park so their coddled kids wouldn't be disappointed and go home eggless. The reporter even consulted an "expert" to confirm that that's what had happened. In reading the story, though, I had a different interpretation of why the grownups behaved that way. There was a field full of gourmet chocolate. Free gourmet chocolate. Isn't that incentive enough?
