Compare and Contrast: Innocent Muslims Versus a Horseless Horseman

A) Innocence of Muslims

Running time: Not quite 14-minute long trailer for a movie that may or may not exist.

Shown where?: On youtube.

Production values: Laughably shoddy; like an old SCTV skit--without the frills or laughs.

Offensive part: Mocks Islam's founder mercilessly.

Muslims' reaction to it: Frenzied, incendiary, out of control, over-the-top.

B) Horseman Without a Horse

Running time: 41--count 'em, 41--episodes.

Shown where?: First shown on Egyptian TV ten years ago; revived following initial "Arab Spring" revelry.

Production values: Not up to Hollywood standards, but not too shabby either.

Offensive part: Claims Jews are engaged in plot to take over the world; dramatizes portions of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the "warrant for genocide" that inspired Hitler.

Jews' reaction to it: Anti-Defamation League issued a media release condemning it. C'est tout.
